MENN STUDIO 2026 Hotato: Saddle Down And Sprout On

Saddle Down & Sprout On Meet Hotato—once a speedy horse, now a fully certified potato horse. After slowing his hooves a little too much, he discovered the soft, starchy side of life. Hotato is unbaked, unbothered, and living his best life on a potato farm somewhere. Hotato set includes a flip book that captures his iconic “horse → potato horse” moment, plus a Hotato figure to keep you company through life’s slower days. In the rush of the world, may we all live a little more like Hotato: soft, slow, sprouty… and unbothered.

Inspired by how potatoes grow underground, the Hotato figure is hidden under kinetic sand, with only a tiny sprout peeking out when you open the box. This creates a delightful unboxing moment—you get to “harvest” your own Hotato. The flipbook sits in the bottom layer, completing the set with Hotato’s transformation story.

The flipbook brings Hotato’s evolution to life frame by frame, beginning with the Chinese character 馬 (horse), morphing into a running horse, then into his quirky potato-horse form, and finally transforming into the character 薯 (potato).
