Wiel Arets’ sketches, like his architecture, play with contrasts. Exacting, oversized perspective views are alternated with schematic diagrams, fixing nascent ideas onto paper. These materials reveal an attitude and approach to design which are more concerned with content than with form.Wiel Arets was born in The Netherlands in 1955. Graduated in architecture at the Technical University Eindhoven He designed, among others, the Academy of Art and Architecture in Maastricht and the University Library in Utrecht.
